Maya Mekira

Maya Mekira is a contemporary artist whose work blends sculpture, painting, and drawing influenced by Japanese anime and manga. Treating each artwork as a living creature, she creates with a sense of dialogue and sensitivity, drawing inspiration from nature and daily life in southern Japan, where she lives and works. Her sculptures have earned multiple awards in Japan and Europe, and her international presence continues to grow since exhibiting at Art Expo New York in 2019.
